An excision, tumor, soft tissue of foot or toe; subfascial is a procedure that involves the surgical removal of any cancerous tissue from the subfascial area, which is found between the deep fascia and the muscle layers, of either a toe or foot.
This procedure is usually done if the patient has a cancerous tumor located in their foot or toe’s soft tissue, in the subfascial area.
During this procedure, the surgeon will open up the area where the tumor is located, so they can reach and carefully remove the tumor while also trying to preserve as much of the healthy tissue as possible.
After the procedure, the patient will likely experience some swelling and discomfort in their foot or toe, and the surgeon may recommend wearing special shoes or inserts for additional support. The surgeon will also arrange for follow-up appointments to make sure the cancerous tissue was completely removed.
