The purpose of this test is to help doctors diagnose and monitor any autoimmune disorders associated with the thyroid, including Graves’ disease and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. It can also provide information about response to treatments for thyroid diseases.
For this diagnostic test, a sample of blood will be collected from a vein in the arm. A lab technician will then use the sample to measure the level of thyroglobulin antibodies present in the blood.
